Lok Sabha Election 2019 Schedule, Dates LIVE News Updates: Lok Sabha elections will begin on April 11 and will be held in seven phases, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced on Sunday. While addressing the media at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, the CEC announced the date for various phases and said counting of votes will take place on May 23. The Model Code of Conduct will also come into effect from today, he added.

Lok Sabha Election 2019 Schedule

Polling for the upcoming Lok Sabha 2019 elections will begin from 11 April and end on 19 May. The polling will happen in seven phases and the counting will take place on 23 May, the Election Commission (EC) announced today.

The Indian general election, 2014 was held to constitute the 16th Lok Sabha, electing members of parliament for all 543 parliamentary constituencies. Running in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014, it was the longest election in the country’s history. The Lok Sabha election 2019 is expected to begin on April 10 and end on May 15.

Lok Sabha Election Result 2019

The Lok Sabha Election 2019 Result Date will be announced on 23 May 2019. The results of the election were declared on 16 May 2014. The Bharatiya Janata Party (of the NDA) achieved an absolute majority with 282 seats out of 543, 166 more than previous 15th Lok Sabha. Its PM candidate Narendra Modi took office on 26 May 2014 as the 14th prime minister of independent India.
